This is an archived recording of the 2021 online version of the course. The course materials and continuing education credits and/or professional development hours are not available. Existing buildings are an important market for commissioning services and constitute a major opportunity for improvements in comfort, energy, use and air quality.ASHRAE currently offers ALI courses with a focus on new building commissioning. There is not a course that exclusively addresses existing building commissioning. The commissioning process requirements for new versus existing buildings are sufficiently important to have warranted development of a standalone guideline for existing buildings (Guideline 0.2). This course aims to encourage expanded engagement with commissioning and the effects it can have on specific operational requirements through the development of issue-specific companion courses. This course is for those generally familiar with the basic understanding of new building commissioning but wish to better understand the differences between new and existing building commissioning. The process flow and documentation requirements of ASHRAE Guideline 0.2 (Commissioning Process for Existing Building Systems and Assemblies) will be presented in detail.
