This powerpoint presentation begins by providing an overview of the St. Johns Water Management District in Florida, and presents its Core Water Supply Mission of implementing a regional strategy to provide sufficient water for users and the environment by: District Water Supply Planning; Water Resource Development Projects; Water Supply Development Assistance through WPSP; and, Consumptive Use Permitting Initiatives. The presentation provides maps of Florida relating to the following topics: Regional Groundwater Model Boundaries; Projected Changes in the Potentiometric Surface of the Floridan Aquifer 1995-2025; Projected Changes in Surficial Aquifer Water Levels 1995-2025; Likelihood of Harm to Vegetation; Priority Water Resource Caution Areas; and, Central Florida Coordination Area. The Central Florida Coordination Area Action Plan is presented and includes: three WMDs developed "Central Florida Coordination Area (CFCA) Action Plan"; three components of regulatory, planning, and modeling and predictive tools. The initial scope included the public water supply. The CFCA action plan for both short and long-term goals are presented, along with short term key concepts in current rulemaking, key aspects of permitting that remain unchanged, longer term (2006 to 2010) key concepts, modeling and tools action plan, rule amendment concepts to support short-term regulatory component, and rulemaking schedule.
