This powerpoint presentation begins by providing a brief overview of the Santa Ana River Water Quality and Health (SARWQH) Study. Emerging constituents of concern are presented, along with the effectiveness of reverse osmosis (RO) for treatment of endocrine disrupting compounds (EDCs) and pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PhPCPs). The effectiveness of RO and nanofiltration (NF) was demonstrated in Camarillo's pilot study. Conclusions indicate that: SARWQH study showed EfOM similar to DOM for other drinking water sources and demonstrated increasing DOC removal with increasing distance from discharge point; of the Note 5 Chemicals measured at Camarillo, only carbamazepine showed up in all groundwater source samples; and, rejection of carbamazepine to non-detect levels was demonstrated for three different RO/NF membranes. Includes tables.
