This slide presentation outlines information on modeling software that can be adapted to a utility's modeling needs. A case study is presented of Tampa Bay Water's effort to develop modeling tools for analyzing their system operations. Their goal was to predict delivered water quality and system pressures with a variety of supplies and configurations. They developed hydraulic and water quality models in WaterCAD® and Excel. Topics covered include: transfer of hydraulic model results to the water quality model; obtain results and format reports for desired parameters; presentation of the automated model interface; discussion of advantages; calibration of automated process; programming elements of model interface; front-end interface programming elements; example of a model interface; establish system demands and supplies using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA); sample report: Predicted Delivered Water Quality; sample reports: System Supplies & Demands / Pressures; and, generation of PowerPoint Presentation customized to user needs.
