This paper reports key findings of a research study entitled "Rejection of Wastewater-Derived Micropollutants in High-Pressure Membrane Applications leading to Indirect Potable Reuse" funded by WateReuse Foundation and the West Basin Municipal Water District, California. The objectives of this study were to determine physico-chemical properties which are suitable to describe membrane-solute interactions and rejection behavior as well as to explore the relationships among physico-chemical properties of trace organics and rejection mechanisms. The study was conducted using bench- and laboratory-scale facilities. Findings were verified at water reuse field sites in California and Arizona that use full-scale membrane facilities. Includes table.
