The East Side Clinic is a 64,000 ft2 (5946 m2) three-story outpatient medical center in Pueblo, Colo. Using a multidisciplinary approach (window and insulation upgrades, photovoltaic array, ground source heat pumps, exhaust energy recovery, etc.), the building reached net-zero energy use over the course of a year. It is the first New Buildings Institute-certified net-zero medical facility (inpatient or outpatient) in the country.
