NIST's Testbed for Optimizing Building System Performance

Actual buildings are The NationalInstitute of Standards and Technology’s Intelligent Building Agents Laboratoryis a “building in a laboratory.” The IBAL testbed is a controlled environmentwith reproducible weather and building loads that NIST uses to analyze realbuilding mechanical systems and allows researchers to understand the challengeswhen moving out of simulation into reality.
