These recommended practices apply to fueling equipment intended to dispense gasoline, diesel and related petroleum products into motor vehicles at commercial and retail fueling facilities. Equipment covered includes all above-grade, liquid and vapor handling components, from the base of the dispenser cabinet to the nozzle spout.
While aspects of this document can be applied to marinas, aviation fueling facilities, isolated construction sites and farms, it is not specifically intended for these facilities. These recommended practices do not apply to dispensers for diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), liquefied petroleum gases, liquefied natural gases or compressed natural gases.

This document is not meant to provide an interpretation of regulatory or legislative requirements related to fuel dispensing equipment, nor does it endorse or recommend particular materials, equipment, suppliers or manufacturers.
