SCOPE AND LIMITS OF TESTING
Interoperability testing for trunking, as described in this document, is limited to functional operations integral to the performance of voice procedures between subscriber radios and FNE under management of a trunking controller. Physically, the test procedures are confined to SUs (mobile and portable) and FNE. The specific features that are tested herein include all of those functions identified as Mandatory or Standard Option Teleservices, Supplementary services, Subscriber services, and Network services for Trunked systems in Sections 5.4 and 5.5 of [3], with the exception of the following:
• Circuit and Packet Switched Data Network Access should be covered under separate test documents for Data operation.
• Discreet Listening is covered for Group Voice Call by the Group Voice Call test suite. It is not covered for Unit-to-Unit call because there is no standard mechanism defined to invoke Discreet Listening on the Air Interface for Unit-to-Unit calls.
• Provision of Network Management Interface, Call Statistics Service, and Traffic Recording are not air interface services, and should be covered under separate test documents.
Note that some services provided for Trunked systems in [1] are not yet described in [3]. These will be added in an upcoming revision to [3]. Tests for these features are included here:
• Announcement group call
• Emergency alarm
• Emergency Group call
• Emergency Unit-to-Unit call
• System call
• Deregistration
• Radio Check
• Radio Detach.
